Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel werden folgende Fragen umrissen: Wie lassen sich die Daten, mit denen in der Pragmatik gearbeitet wird, beschreiben und welche Methoden werden dabei angewandt, um Fragestellungen zu bearbeiten? Wie gelangt die Pragmatik zu neuen Erkenntnissen und wie verfeinert sie bestehendes Wissen? Intuition und Introspektion stellen dabei als Methode der Pragmatik den Ausgangspunkt dieses Kapitels dar. Die Hinwendung zur Empirie und mit welchen Daten im Rahmen verschiedener Untersuchungen gearbeitet wird, wird im weiteren Verlauf beispielhaft an den Arbeitsweisen der Analyse von Gesprächen, der experimentellen Pragmatik sowie der Korpuspragmatik erläutert.
