Zusammenfassung
Der früheste griechische Naturphilosoph oder der erste, der in Griechenland die Natur der Dinge insgesamt erforscht hat (85), ist nach traditioneller Auffassung Thales. Er sagte eine Sonnenfinsternis voraus, die im Jahr 585 v.Chr. stattfand (74). Er begann seine Tätigkeit daher vermutlich nicht viel früher als zu Anfang des 6. Jahrhunderts.1
