Wer bin ich? Wie sehe ich die Anderen? Wie sehen die Anderen mich? Spätestens seit den wegweisenden Studien des Sozialphilosophen und Psychologen George Herbert Mead (›Mind, Self and Society‹, 1934), des Soziologen Erving Goffman (›The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life‹, 1959; dt. ›Wir alle spielen Theater‹) und des Psychoanalytikers Erik H. Erikson (›Identität und Lebenszyklus‹, 1966) werden das Konzept personaler Identität (Ich-Identität) und das Konzept sozialer Identität über eine Korrelation expliziert:1 Das Individuum ist »das Individuum der Gesellschaft«,2 und die Gesellschaft ist die »Gesellschaft der Individuen«.3
