Zussamenfassung
Eine Darstellung des philosophischen und literarischen Hintergrundes von Platons Dialogen wird erschwert durch einen Mangel an zuverlässigem biographischem Material (Erler 2007, 35 ff.). Die antiken Biographien Platons bieten zwar – der Tradition dieses Genres entsprechend – viel Anekdotisches, jedoch wenig Gesichertes über jene Einflüsse, die zu Platons geistiger Biographie beitrugen (Erler/Schorn 2008).
