Zussamenfassung
Im Sinne einer (1)Theorie der sinnlichen Wahrnehmung (aisthêsis) gehört die Ästhetik – zusammen mit der Theorie geistigen Erkennens (noêsis) – zur Epistemologie Platons (s. Kap. IV.22), welche die aisthêsis – aufgrund der ontologischen Hierarchisierung der jeweiligen Kognitionsgegenstände – als ein der noêsis deutlich unterlegenes Kognitionsvermögen begreift (vgl. hierzu insbes. das Liniengleichnis in der Politeia (Rep. VI 509c–511e)).
