Die Anthropologie gehört zu den Themenkomplexen platonischen Philosophierens, die in der Forschung bisher etwas stiefmütterlich behandelt worden sind, und das nicht nur aufgrund der immer noch schwelenden Debatte darüber, ob man vor dem 20. Jahrhundert überhaupt von einer Anthropologie im Vollsinne des Wortes sprechen kann. Der Hintergrund ist vielmehr ein werkimmanenter.
