Abstract
The impact ionization and the three-body recombination coefficients are calculated for a nonideal hydrogen plasma. Statistical expressions are derived for these rate coefficients on the basis of generalized kinetic equations in order to account for many particle effects as self energy, screening and Pauli-blocking. The ionization cross section was calculated numerically in first Born approximation. Quasiparticle energies and effective interaction potentials are considered in the static limit. The influence of the medium effects on the cross section as well as on the rate coefficients is discussed.
