Zusammenfassung
Neuere Untersuchungen von Borderline- und narzißtischen Störungen bei Adoleszenten werfen die wichtige Frage auf nach dem Zusammenhang zwischen den Erfahrungen in der Familie und einer pathologischen Entwicklung des Selbst. Die Forschungsarbeiten von Erikson (1950, 1956, 1968), Jacobson (1964), Kernberg (1975), Kohut (1966, 1968, 1971, 1977), Mahler (1968, 1971, 1975) und Masterson (1972) gehen alle von der Ichpsychologie und der Objektbeziehungstheorie aus und befassen sich mit der Entwicklung des Selbst und seinen Strukturen und Grenzen. Die vorliegende Arbeit konzeptualisiert Störungen in der Entwicklung des Selbst in der Kindheit und stellt einen Zusammenhang her zwischen diesen Störungen und späteren pathologischen Manifestationen (Shapiro, E. 1978). Solche pathologischen Manifestationen werden häufig in der Adoleszenz zum erstenmal deutlich erkennbar.
