Gewalt, Entmenschlichung und rassistische Konstruktionen von Hutu und Tutsi

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Aufsatz stelle ich einen Ausschnitt eines größeren laufenden Projektes vor, mit dem ich eine Ethnografie der Herstellung kategorischer Feindschaft in der Region der Großen Seen in Zentralafrika entwickeln will. Ich möchte darin zur Diskussion stellen, wie die Anwendung von Gewalt ebenso wie deren erinnernde Wiedererzählung an einem Prozess der kategorischen Entmenschlichung beteiligt sind, der heute die Bürger von Burundi und Ruanda terrorisiert. Diese Prozesse der Entmenschlichung sind ein zentraler Aspekt in der Bildung der Kategorien „Hutu“ und „Tutsi“.
