Den Schwerpunkt der Einrichtungen der Atomforschungsanlage des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen in Jülich bilden die beiden Forschungsreaktoren Merlin und Dido.
Résumé
Merlin est un réacteur modéré et refroidi à l’eau légère, à uranium très enrichi, et d’une puissance thermique de 5 MW. Le flux de neutrons thermiques est de 5 · 1013 et celui des neutrons rapides de 1014 n · cm-2 · s-1 dans le cœur. Il possède de nombreux canaux de grandes dimensions et deux colonnes thermiques. En fonctionnement, le cœur du réacteur peut occuper l’une ou l’autre de deux positions superposées selon les besoins.
Abstract
Two research reactors, Merlin and Dido, are the chief parts of the Atomic Centre of the Land Nordrhein-Westfalen at Jülich.
