Abstract

In foregoing studies with animal models it was established

  1. 1.

    that risk factors directly and regularly induce an increase of aortic smooth muscle cells (SMC) proliferation (Fig. 1);

  2. 2.

    that “antirheumatic” drugs induce a decrease of SMC proliferation (Fig. 2).
