Zusammenfassung

Der Terminus Qualität mit seinen verschiedenen Ausprägungen und Komponenten wird in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften schon seit längerer Zeit thematisiert. Immer mehr Unternehmen erkennen, daß dem zunehmenden nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerb und den geschäftlichen Unsicherheiten mit herkömmlichen Unternehmensführungskonzepten nicht mehr begegnet werden kann. Jahrzehnte lang bewährte, im unternehmerischen Denken teilweise fest verankerte Grundsätze und Leitbilder des Handelns stehen angesichts neuer Rahmenbedingungen verstärkt auf dem Prüfstand. Dieser Prozeß mündet vielfach in einem Suchen nach neuen Konzepten für Produktverbesserung, Erfolgsstrategie und Markterfolg. Dabei erkennen Führungskräfte immer deutlicher, daß Weichenstellungen Zukunftsvisionen voraussetzen, die Mitarbeiter und Kunden gleichermaßen ansprechen.1 Angesichts der zunehmenden Komplexität und Instabilität des Unternehmensumfeldes sowie des deutlichen Absinkens der Halbwertszeit des Wissens müssen moderne Managementmodelle zwangsläufig anspruchsvoller sein als die der Vergangenheit.
