Zusammenfassung
Dem Thema Gewalt und Medien sind Hekatomben von Literatur gewidmet. Seit dem Aufkommen des Films hat das Thema immer wieder Wellen intensiver öffentlicher Diskussion ausgelöst, angefangen von der Schmutz- und Schundgesetzgebung der Weimarer Zeit2 bis hin zu den gegenwärtigen Bemühungen in Deutschland, durch eine Vielzahl gesetzlicher Maßnahmen regulierend tätig zu sein. Besonders in den USA waren frühzeitig Klagen zu hören, vor allem das Fernsehen würde zu viele Verbrechen darstellen. Mit inhaltsanalytischer Methodik wurde dabei seit den 50er Jahren der Gewaltanteil an den Fernsehprogrammen objektiviert (Logan, 1950; Head, 1954; Klapper, 1960; Gerbner/Gross, 1973), wobei es sich nach international vergleichenden Inhaltsanalysen bestätigt hat (Huesmann/Eron, 1986: 21), dass in den USA, gefolgt von Japan, die Gewaltanteile des Fernsehens überproportional hoch sind (Iwao et al. 1981: 31).3
Die dargestellten Ergebnisse wurden im Rahmen des vom Bayerischen Staatsministeriums für Arbeit und Sozialordnung, Familie und Frauen zwischen 2001 – 2003 geförderten Forschungsprojektes „Medienanalyse“ erarbeitet. Projektmitarbeiter sind Herr Dipl.-Psych. Christoph Bauer, Herr Dipl.-Psych. Rüdiger Eisenhauer und Frau Dipl.-Psych. Iris Schneider. Neben den Projektmitarbeitern waren als studentische Hilfskräfte oder Diplomanden an der Datenaufnahme und -analyse die Studierenden Christina Bernhard, Antje Hornung, Alexander Lottner, Tanja Meindl, Margit Numberger, Carolin Wagner und Frieda Winnik sowie als Sekretärin Frau Marlis Reindl beteiligt.
