Zusammenfassung
Solidarität ist kein wissenschaftlicher, sondern ein sozialpolitischer Begriff und meint die Verpflichtung einer Gemeinschaft gegenüber ihren Mitgliedern. Der Gedanke der Reziprozität, d.h. des wechselseitigen Lebens und Nehmens, ist wichtig. Inzwischen wird der Begriff alltagssprachlich verwendet und dabei oft überstrapaziert. So hat er zwar im Laufe der Zeit an Bedeutungsvielfalt gewonnen, aber gleichzeitig an Präzision verloren. Historisch gesehen ist die Bedeutung des Begriffes eng mit der Arbeiterbewegung und der Durchsetzung von Grundrechten verbunden. In unserer heutigen Welt gibt es viele Anlässe, in denen immer wieder zu Solidarität mit ganz verschiedenen Empfängern aus ganz verschiedenen Gründen aufgerufen wird. Oft ist der Grundgedanke der Solidarität dabei sehr verwässert; es handelt sich fast nur noch um Appelle zu materieller Hilfeleistung, damit akute oder chronische Notfälle gelindert werden. Aber vielleicht ist dies einfach die moderne Variante von Solidarität.
