Soziale Folgen der Segregation alter Menschen in der Stadt

Zusammenfassung

Sozialökologische Studien machen darauf aufmerksam, daß in den Städten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bedeutsame räumliche Sortierungsvorgänge im Gange sind, die zur räumlichen Aussonderung bestimmter Bevölkerungsgruppen fuhren. Solche wohnungsmäßigen räumlichen Aussonderungsprozesse konnten z.B. bei relativ armen Menschen, bei Gastarbeitern und Obdachlosen beobachtet werden (HERLYN u.a., 1980; ESSER, 1979; VASKOVICS, 1976; HONDRICH/HOFFMANN-NOWOTNY, 1981). Immer mehr empirische Hinweise deuteten darauf hin, daß durch diese räumlichen Sortierungsprozesse auch alte Menschen in bedeutsamem Ausmaß betroffen sind. In diesem Beitrag soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, zu welchen sozialen Konsequenzen die Segregation alter Menschen führt.
