Zusammenfassung
‘Expertensysteme’ sind computergestützte Informationssysteme, mit denen neue Informationen produziert werden können. Es geht bei ihrer Anwendung also nicht bloß darum, Informationen zu speichern und aufzusuchen. Die neuen Informationen sind nicht etwa bloße Auszählungs- und statistische Berechnungsergebnisse, sondern können beliebig sprachlich-symbolische Strukturen (logische Aussagen, Texte, Bilder, Diagramme) sein. Sofern man gewillt ist, bei computergerechten Informationen ab einer gewissen Komplexität von Wissen’ zu sprechen, kann man die für das nächste Jahrzehnt projektierten ‘Expertensysteme’ (Hayes-Roth u. a. 1983, Feigenbaum/ McCorduck 1984) und ihre heutigen Prototypen als ‘wissensbasierte Systeme’ bezeichnen. So lautet auch der Fachausdruck in der Informatik.
