Zusammenfassung

In den 80er und den beginnenden 90er Jahren ist das Niveau des Welterdölpreises gegenüber der zweiten Hälfte der 70er Jahre deutlich gesunken. Diese Entwicklung hat bei vielen Autoren den Blick darauf verstellt, daß dieses Niveau (gemessen an den Produktionskosten) indes nach wie vor hoch ist — und es ist, so die These dieses Papiers, die Politik der in der OPEC organisierten Erdölstaaten, die für dieses hohe Niveau sorgt.
