Der Datentyp Boolean erlaubt das Arbeiten mit Wahrheitswerten (logischen Variablen), die entweder den Wert false oder den Wert true annehmen. Der Name Boolean ist abgeleitet von dem britischen Mathematiker und Logiker George Boole (1815–1864).
