Zusammenfassung
Obwohl der Schwerpunkt des Buches auf den symbolischen Repräsentationsformalismen der Kapitel 2 bis 4 liegt, gibt es wichtige andere Formalismen für die Wissensrepräsentation, die für bestimmte Bereiche nach wie vor ihre Bedeutung haben und wohl auch behalten werden. Als Beispiele für andere Verfahren wird hier kurz auf Grammatiken, Relaxationsmethoden, Prototypen, Diskriminantenfunktionen und Markov Modelle eingegangen. Das Ziel dieses Kapitels ist eine informelle Einführung in die wesentlichen Gesichtspunkte; die zum Teil äußerst umfangreichen Einzelheiten sind der zitierten Literatur zu entnehmen.
