Zusammenfassung
Branchenweit sinkende Produktlebenszyklen, steigende Anforderungen an Produkte und sich ständig verkürzende Zeitspannen für die Gewinnerwirtschaftung sind Rahmenbedingungen, mit denen sich die industrielle Produktentwicklung konfrontiert sieht.1 Die Schnelligkeit am Markt (time-to-market) ist in diesem Umfeld eine der erfolgsentscheidenden Größen im Wettbewerb.2 Zur Begegnung dieser Herausforderungen sehen Unternehmen große Optimierungspotenziale bei der Planung und Organisation des Produktentwicklungsprozesses.3 Zahlreiche Studien und Analysen haben gezeigt, dass ein hoher Prozentsatz des Entwicklungsaufwandes Änderungsaufwand darstellt, der durch bessere organisatorische Rahmenbedingungen und einen transparenteren Informationsfluss vermieden werden kann.4
