Die Vorteile von US-Unternehmen gegenüber ausländischen Konkurrenten sind um so größer, je höher der Grad der Aufwertung des US-Dollar und je geringer der Wert des ausländischen Börsenindex gegenüber dem US-Index sind. Während der erste Trend zu einem steigenden Wert für den RWI führt, bewirkt der zweite ein Absinken.
