Zusammenfassung
In den vorausgehenden Kapiteln wurden die allgemeinen Rahmenbedingungen von Gesellschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik in Kanada beschrieben, die Positionen der Akteure verdeutlicht und hinterfragt, sowie die Qualität der FTA-Debatte analysiert. An dieser Stelle erfolgt nun die Interpretation der politisch-institutionellen und sozio-kulturellen Rahmenbedingungen entsprechend der analytisch-theoretischen Ausgangspunkte dieser Arbeit. Die Untersuchung des Willensbildungs- und Entscheidungsprozesses um das FTA wird also entlang der theoretischen Konzepte des ‘Statism’ und des ‘Institutionalism’ verlaufen. Das bedeutet in Anlehnung an die Aussagen in Kapitel 2: Welche Charakteristika sind für den kanadischen Staat aus ‘statist’-Sicht besonders auffällig, welchen wesentlichen Einflüssen unterliegt er, und innerhalb welcher dominierender institutioneller Rahmenbedingungen verlaufen politische Prozesse?
