Zusammenfassung
Vor wenigen Jahren noch hätten die meisten Beobachter die deutsche Industrie als außerordentlich innovationsstark bezeichnet. Inzwischen mehren sich die Hinweise auf empfindliche Innovationsdefizite. Von einer Innovationskrise gar ist die Rede — eine Deutung, die zu der in der Öffentlichkeit kursierenden Diagnose einer tiefgreifenden Krise des deutschen Arbeits- und Sozialmodells insgesamt zu passen scheint. Ich greife diese Veränderung im Innovationsverhalten der deutschen Industrie auf und erkläre sie mit einem Argument, das im Verfall des betrieblichen Konsensus und in widersprüchlichen Wirkungen des deutschen Berufsverständnisses wichtige Ursachen für die auftretenden Innovationsschwächen sieht.
Die von Philippe Bernoux verfaßten Teile wurden von Horst Kern aus dem Französischen ins Deutsche übertragen.
