Zusammenfassung
Die Organisation für Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (OECD) unterscheidet fünf Arten wirtschaftlicher Aktivitäten, die den Zustand der Umwelt bestimmen (1): 1) Land- und Forstwirtschaft und Fischerei, 2) Industrie, 3) Transport, 4) Energieproduktion, 5) Siedlung. Jede dieser Aktivitäten hat abhängig von Art und Umfang des Wirtschaftswachstums und der Umweltschutzmassnahmen Änderungen der Umwelt zu Folge durch Energie-, Ressourcen-, und Raumgebrauch und durch Abfällebeseitigung.
