Zusammenfassung

Die Forschung auf dem Gebiet des Gedächtnisses für räumliche Beziehungen geht von der Annahme aus, daß Individuen mentale Repräsentationen aufbauen und benutzen. Sie erlangen räumliches Wissen durch Navigation in ihrer Umgebung (Antes, McBride und Collins, 1988; Gale, Golledge, Pellegrino und Doherty, 1990; Loomis, Klatzky, Golledge, Cicinelli, Pellegrino und Fry, 1993), durch das Lesen oder Hören von verbalen Beschreibungen räumlicher Anordnungen (Denis, 1996; Franklin und Tversky, 1990; Morrow, Bower und Greenspan, 1989; Per-rig und Kintsch, 1985) oder durch geographische Karten (Denis, 1996; Kosslyn, Ball und Reiser, 1978; McNamara, Ratcliff und McKoon, 1984). Der vorliegende Bericht untersucht räumliches Gedächtnis, das durch Karten entsteht. Es gibt zwei Ziele: 1. Es sollen verschiedene Methoden zur Erforschung des räumlichen Gedächtnisses kombiniert werden, die normalerweise getrennt benutzt wurden. 2. Durch die Kontrolle des zeitlichen Ablaufs in der Aneignungsphase wollen wir räumliche und zeitliche Einflüsse trennen.
