Zusammenfassung

Non-Profit-Organisationen (NPO), die in diesem Beitrag aus transaktionskostentheoretischer Perspektive analysiert werden, sind zu einem viel beachteten Gegenstand der Forschung geworden. In der Literatur werden sie häufig von privaten erwerbswirtschaftlichen Organisationen einerseits und staatlichen Organisationen andererseits abgegrenzt.1 Dieser Unterscheidung wird hier nur bedingt gefolgt, da sie genaugenommen auf zwei Abgrenzungskriterien, nämlich auf die von einer Organisation verfolgten Ziele und auf die Identität der Eigentümer, abstellt.
