Zusammenfassung
Nimmt man die Wahrnehmung Jugendlicher als Maßstab, lässt sich die Antwort auf die Frage nach der Rolle, die Eltern und Lehrer in der psychosozialen Entwicklung während der zweiten Lebensdekade spielen, kurz fassen: Eltern sind — auch heute noch — weitaus wichtiger, als in der öffentlichen Diskussion vielfach behauptet, Lehrer nehmen einen randständigen Platz ein. Fragt man z.B., an wen sie sich im Fall persönlicher Probleme wenden würden oder in den vorangegangenen drei Monaten gewendet hatten, gaben 13-bis 16-jährige mit Abstand am häufigsten die Mutter gefolgt von Freunden und dem Vater an, während Lehrer, ob Vertrauens-, Klassen- oder Beratungslehrer weit abgeschlagen im unteren Drittel der Nennungen rangierten (vgl. Hurrelmann 1991). Nicht viel anders sieht es bei Schulproblemen als Anlass aus. Immerhin hatten 16% der Befragten in dieser Situation den Klassenlehrer angesprochen (Mutter: 75%; Vater: 44%). Allerdings handelt es sich bei diesen Informationen um Selbstauskünfte, die aus verschiedenen Gründen fehlleiten mögen. Und, noch wichtiger, die aktive Ansprache von Personen im sozialen Netzwerk sagt nur eingeschränkt etwas über Einflüsse auf die psychosoziale Entwicklung aus, die ausgeübt werden können, ohne evoziert oder intendiert zu sein.
