Abstract
‘Spinning at Computers’ tests in a playful way the use of computer and telecommunication systems for human exchange. It draws on the art of conversation, which has its roots in the century-long history of the Salon culture in Italy and France. As early as in the Renaissance people searched for new forms of connection and connectedness in human communication through conversational games. In those times the exchange was more or less vertical. It connected and mixed different social classes. The following report is based on an art workshops held at ifu and describes mainly horizontal exchanges of cultures due to the participation of women from fifteen countries.
