Zusammenfassung

Seit dem vergangenen Jahrzehnt werden zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen verstärkt als die „neuen Akteure“ im internationalen Gefiige wahrgenommen Mit dem Ende des Kalten Krieges sind es vor allem die Nichtregierungsorganisationen (NGOs),’ die durch ihr Engagement und Know-how von sich Reden machen. Insbesondere während des UN-Marathons der Weltkonferenzen in der ersten Hälfte der 90er Jahre haben NGOs zunehmend internationale Institutionen durchdrungen und sich gegenüber dem „alten Player” Staat selbstbewusst präsentiert. Mit kompetenten Redebeiträgen vor der Völkergemeinschaft, als offizielle Mitglieder staatlicher Delegationen und durch spektakuläre Aktionen außerhalb offizieller Veranstaltungen haben NGOs direkt und indirekt an den internationalen politischen Prozessen teilgenommen und sie mitgestaltet.
