Abstract
Polarized luminescence of excitonic molecules and free excitons in germanium has been studied theoretically and experimentally. The characteristic features of the luminescence are relatively high polarization of radiation (up to 40%) at uniaxial stresses as small as 50–100kg/cm2 together with chancing of polarization direction of LA lines at higher stresses. It is shown that such behavior is the convincing evidence of biexcitonic origin of 0,709 ev line in germanium.
