Zusammenfassung

Die Strömungen in der Erdatmosphäre (Luftströmungen) und in den Ozeanen (Meeresströmungen) unterscheiden sich prinzipiell nicht von den in den bisherigen Kapiteln behandelten Strömungen in technischen Bereichen. Es handelt sich um Bewegungen in Gasen (Atmosphäre) und Flüssigkeiten (Ozean), die dem Einfluss der Schwerkraft unterliegen und die durch Druck- und Reibungskräfte bestimmt werden. Atmosphäre und Ozean sind Teil eines rotierenden Systems, in dem zusätzlich Coriolis- und Zentrifugalkräfte wirken.
