Konjunkturen des Korporatismus: Zur Geschichte eines Paradigmenwechsels in der Verbändeforschung

Zusammenfassung

Die „dritte Welle der Verbändeforschung“ (Almond 1983: 173), nach dem klassischen Pluralismus der fünfziger und den Neo-Pluralismen der sechziger Jahre, ist mit dem Begriff „Korporatismus“ eng verbunden. Die Vorstellung und Beobachtung wohlgeordneter und dauerhafter Verknüpfungen von Staat und Verbänden anstelle einer Vielgestalt punktueller Einflußbeziehungen unterscheidet den Korporatismusansatz von der Pluralismustheorie amerikanischer Prägung. Aus einer Fülle pluralismuskritischer Ansätze hat sich gerade dieses Konzept als neues Orientierungsschema der Verbändeforschung durchgesetzt. Es markiert einen Paradigmenwechsel, den zahlreiche andere Varianten der Pluralismuskritik (Schattschneider 1960; Lowi 1969; LaPalombara 1964; McConnel 1966; Rokkan 1966; Bachrach 1967; Kaiser 1954; Fraenkel 1991; Blanke et al. 1975) verfehlt hatten.
