Zusammenfassung

Als Blanc-Reaktion 1,2) bezeichnet man die Chlormethylierung von Aromaten. Zu diesem Zweck werden die aromatischen Edukte 1 in Gegenwart eines Katalysators mit Formaldehyd 2 und Chlorwasserstoffgas behandelt, wodurch in einer Substitutionsreaktion eine Chlormethylgruppe eingeführt wird.
