Umlagerung von α-Halogenketonen zu Carbonsäureestern Unter Einwirkung von Basen lagern α-Halogenketone 1 zu Carbonsäuren oder ihren Derivaten 3 um. Dieses wird allgemein als Favorskii-Umlagerung 1,2) bezeichnet. Als Base werden Hydroxid-Ionen, Alkoholate oder Amine verwendet, als Halogene kommen Chlor, Brom und Iod in Frage.
