Zusammenfassung

Das Ziel der Wirt/Gast-Forschung war anfangs meist die Synthese neuer Wirtverbindungen, die hohe Komplexkonstanten oder ausgeprägte Gastselektivitäten aufweisen. Aus dem heutigen Kenntnisstand erwächst aber auch der Wunsch, Wirtverbindungen in Händen zu haben, deren Einschlußvermögen und Selektivität sich durch „äußere“ Einwirkung reversibel steuern lassen und die so als „chemische Schalter“ fungieren können.
