Zusammenfassung
Durch die Herausforderungen der Informationsverarbeitung als “Werkzeugwissenschaft des Geistes” entwickeln sich interessante Entwicklungsperspektiven für die Sozialwissenschaften. Hierunter verstehen wir zunehmende Benutzerorientierung im Bereich der Datenbanktechnologie, die semantische Erschließung von Daten in wissensbasierten Systemen und die Einsatzmöglichkeiten neuer Medien zugunsten einer “neuen Emanzipation” der Sozialwissenschaft. Dies soll im folgenden am Beispiel von Abgrenzungen und Konvergenzen der beteiligten Wissenschaften herausgearbeitet werden.
