Abstract
Polymer technology shows the potential to fabricate and integrate the basic components of optical crossconnect elements which are important processing units in a future transparent optical network.
The fabrication and characterisation of integrated optical polymer components and the present state in polymer technolgy at the Heinrich-Hertz-Institut in Berlin is presented.
