Zusammenfassung

Als die Wiener Philharmoniker, eines der Spitzenorchester dieser Welt, auf einer Pressekonferenz im Sommer ’96 erklärten, sie würden es auch im 154. Jahr ihres Bestehens kategorisch ablehnen, Frauen als Musikerinnen in ihre Reihen aufzunehmen, weil der „mutterschaftsbedingte Leistungsabfall“ und die „Babypause die musikalische Qualität mindere“ (Der Spiegel 1996/33), war die öffentliche Empörung groß.
