Seien f(x) und g(y) lokal integrierbare Funktionen auf ℝm bzw. ℝn. Unter dem Tensorprodukt f(x) ⊗ g(y) verstehen wir das Produkt f(x)g(y), das eine lokal integrierbare Funktion in ℝm+n darstellt. Diese lokal integrierbare Funktion kann als (reguläre) Distribution über dem Raum S (ℝm+n) aufgefaßt werden.
