Am Beispiel des Schnittstellenbausteins 8255 von Intel, der von dem Mikroprozessor 8085 direkt angesprochen werden kann, soll das Prinzip des Aufbaus einer einfachen parallelen Schnittstelle erläutert werden. Von anderen Firmen gibt es entsprechende ICs, so z.B. den 6820 von Motorola.
