Zusammenfassung

Neben dem Einsatz von solitären Lasern als Sender in optischen Übertragungssystemen wird die Integration dieser Strahlungsquellen in optischen Schaltungen zusammen mit Filtern, Weichen und Modulatoren in Zukunft immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnen. Besonders geeignet sind dabei Laserstrukturen, deren aktiver Bereich die Form eines optischen Wellenleiters hat. Um die für die Integration störende Unterbrechung des Wellenleiters an den teilreflektierenden Spiegeln zu vermeiden, werden in planarer Bauweise z.B. Liniengitter zur optischen Rückkopplung an beiden Enden aufgebracht (vgl. Bild 6.1), deren Periode Λ ist.
