Den soziologischen Ansätzen ist gemeinsam, daß sie Fruchtbarkeit in Abhängigkeit von kulturellen, gesellschaftlichen oder sozialen Faktoren sehen, wobei aber der jeweilige Forschungsgegenstand ein anderer sein kann. Somit kann man auch nicht von einer einheitlichen Betrachtungsweise sprechen.
