Zusammenfassung

Der allgemeine Problemkontext dieser Analyse ist die Beschreibung und Erklärung der Qualität der zeitgenössischen Demokratien, die hier als Liberale Demokratien bezeichnet werden. Diese klassische Frage des politischen Denkens ist seit einigen Jahren wieder auf der Themenagenda der akademischen Debatte zu finden. Dafür lassen sich mehrere Gründe angeben.
