Zusammenfassung
Der Generaldirektor der internationalen Entwicklungsagentur Schwedens (SIDA) dachte eindeutig an Afrika als eine der Weltregionen, in der Millionen von Kindern in Armut geboren werden. Ohne Zweifel lautet daher die größte Aufgabe, der sich die Menschen in Afrika im 21. Jahrhundert in engagierter Weise stellen müssen, Wandel und Entwicklung eines Kontinents herbeizuführen, der von fortgesetzter und wachsender Massenarmut geschwächt wird. Alle Anstrengungen in diesem Zusammenhang sind untrennbar mit einem notwendigen Interesse für das Wohlergehen der verletzlichsten Gesellschaftsmitglieder — unter anderen Frauen und Kinder — verbunden.
