Die bisherigen Abschnitte behandelten Gebiete der sog. Elementarmathematik. Mit dem vorhegenden Abschnitt beginnt nun die höhere Mathematik. Der wesentliche Grundbegriff, auf dem die höhere Mathematik aufbaut, ist der Begriff des Grenzwertes einer Zahlenfolge.
