Unter einem Polynom n-ten Grades versteht man eine Funktion der Form
(Statt Polynom sagt man auch ganzrationale Funktion.) Die Zahlen a0, a1,..., a n heißen die Koeffizienten des Polynoms. Der Definitionsbereich von f ist die gesamte reelle Achse.
