Abstract

More and more assignments in organizations are being accomplished in a project context. The recruitment and retention of competent project managers has become a crucial issue in terms of the success or failure of organizations. If project managers want to work effectively, they must be able to avail themselves of a broad array of qualities, some of which are quite “in conflict” with others. This requires that they are able to balance these demands according to what a given situation calls for.
