Abstract
The Institute of Technical Computer Science — Section Knowledge Based Systems — at Hanover University co-operated with the Project Area Work at ifu There are innumerable research projects in the fields of Technology, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, all of them being highly structured fields. It was the possibility to work in the Social Sciences, a field that Koschmann et al. (1993/1994: 231) call ‘ill-structured’, that made the co-operation particularly interesting. Thanks to the situation given at ifu, it was possible to develop resources and structures for project work in an interdisciplinary field, with representatives of seven different disciplines, namely sociology, socio-psychology, education, political science, economics, history, and ethno-psychoanalysis.2
