Zusammenfassung
Das Marketing — auch das Industriegütermarketing — ist heute reich an Ansätzen, Konzepten und Theorievorschlägen zur Bewältigung von Managementproblemen. Eine zentrale Rolle spielen Anlehnungen an und Entlehnungen aus verhaltenswissenschaftlichen Ansätzen; nicht selten werden Praxiskonzepte, die ursprünglich von Unternehmensberatungen stammen, von der Wissenschaft angewendet und weiterentwickelt. Angesichts der bisweilen verwirrenden Vielfalt, der nicht selten zu konstatierenden Theoriearmut (Backhaus, 1992) und der scheinbaren Beliebigkeit in der Anwendung verschiedener Ansätze („Theorieeklektizismus“) kamen und kommen vermehrt Forderungen nach einer wieder stärkeren theoretischen Verzahnung mit anderen ökonomischen Theorien auf. Hax schrieb bereits 1991: „So fruchtbar diese Neuorientierung des Marketing in mancher Hinsicht gewesen sein mag, bedauerlich bleibt, dass damit das wichtigste Charakteristikum eines Marktes, das Ineinandergreifen der Dispositionen rational handelnder Individuen, aus dem Blickfeld kam.“ (Hax, 1991, S. 64). Die Verwendung des (neo)institutionenökonomischen Forschungsprogramms für das Industriegütermarketing repräsentiert einen der aktuellen Ansätze zur Einlösung der beschriebenen Forderungen.1 Angesichts bestehender Theorieoptionen und -alternativen stellt sich indes die Frage, warum gerade der institutionenökonomische Beitrag zum Industriegütermarketing vielversprechend sein soll: Angesichts der bereits vorhandenen Vielzahl konkurrierender Theorien ist dies rechtfertigungsbedürftig.
