Abstract
A short survey is given on the newly developed Interactive Robot Master Slave System (“AUTOMANIPULATOR”) used in the Gießerei Britz GmbH (Britz Foundry Ltd.). The most essential improvement is the automation-aided manipulation that enables the operator to operate this system continuously and with a constant machining quality. The system consists of several mechatronic components necessary to implement the technical and ergonomic functionality and process reflection. Programming activities are not necessary, even if parts are changed. Conclusions are drawn from the first experience gained under production conditions, and prospects are given for the near future.
